Special Purpose Drivers

The Special Purpose display drivers found here are offered AS IS, without warranty of any kind, and have NOT been completely qualified by ATI. They are provided to meet special driver requirements, for the testing of new features and new driver offerings, and to make them available to the public in a timely manner. Usage of these drivers are without support of any kind, and you use them at your own risk.

ATI does NOT recommend installing these drivers in systems used for mission critical operations or where productivity of any kind is a concern.

Unless you are very comfortable with installing and un-installing drivers, we DO NOT recommend that you use the drivers provided here. These Special Purpose Drivers are NOT SUPPORTED by ATI Technical Support or any other ATI department.

If you decide to install these drivers and encounter issues that you cannot work with, we suggest these drivers be uninstalled and that you install the Supported Retail/Generic Drivers for your specific product found on the Technical Support website at http://support.ati.com. For instructions TO UNINSTALL ATI display drivers please refer to the Release Notes available here or the README.TXT file included with each driver.

Please use the On-line Problem Report Form to inform us of bugs and other issues you may have experienced with the Special Purpose Drivers. We are unable to accept any other form of feedback on these drivers.

Release Notes

ATI recommends installing the DirectX 8 runtime. This has been found to resolve some intermittent system hang issues. See DirectX download note below.

If you receive the error message "More than one video decoder found...", the TV Wonder drivers may not be installed correctly. Please see Driver Installation in the Known Issues section of the Release Notes.
ATI's TV Wonder PCI cards interact closely with the installed display driver in order to display and size the video window. With the move to Windows 2000, many vendors, especially of older graphics cards have chosen not to release enhanced drivers for this new operating system and this causes problems with the full functionality of the TV Wonder. For more information please see the TV Wonder Compatibility Chart in the Release Notes.

ATI strongly recommends you install the most recent drivers for your motherboard before installing these drivers. This will help to prevent issues that may occur after updating your display driver.
